WHAT YOUR CHILD NEEDS TO LEARN

One young man went to apply for a managerial position in a big company. He passed the initial interview, and now would meet the director for the final interview.

The director discovered from his CV that the youth's academic achievements were excellent. He asked, "Did you obtain any scholarships in school?" the youth answered "no".

" Was it your father who paid for your school fees?"

"My father passed away when I was one year old, it was my mother who paid for my school fees.” he replied.

" Where did your mother work?"

"My mother worked as clothes cleaner.”

The director requested the youth to show his hands. The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect.

" Have you ever helped your mother wash the clothes before?"

"Never, my mother always wanted me to study and read more books. Besides, my mother can wash clothes faster than me.

The director said, "I have a request. When you go home today, go and clean your mother's hands, and then see me tomorrow morning.

The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high. When he went back home, he asked his mother to let him clean her hands. His mother felt strange, happy but with mixed feelings, she showed her hands to her son.

The youth cleaned his mother's hands slowly. His tear fell as he did that. It was the first time he noticed that his mother's hands were so wrinkled, and there were so many bruises in her hands. Some bruises were so painful that his mother winced when he touched it.

This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed the clothes everyday to enable him to pay the school fees. The bruises in the mother's hands were the price that the mother had to pay for his education, his school activities and his future.

After cleaning his mother hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother.

That night, mother and son talked for a very long time.

Next morning, the youth went to the director's office.

The Director noticed the tears in the youth's eyes, when he asked: "Can you tell me what have you done and learned yesterday in your house?"

The youth answered," I cleaned my mother's hand, and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes'

“I know now what appreciation is. Without my mother, I would not be who I am today. By helping my mother, only now do I realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done on your own. And I have come to appreciate the importance and value of helping one’s family.

The director said, "This is what I am looking for in a manager. I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life.”

“You are hired.”

This young person worked very hard, and received the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked diligently and worked as a team. The company's performance improved tremendously.

A child, who has been protected and habitually given whatever he wanted, would develop an "entitlement mentality" and would always put himself first. He would be ignorant of his parent's efforts. When he starts work, he assumes that every person must listen to him, and when he becomes a manager, he would never know the sufferings of his employees and would always blame others. For this kind of people, who may be good academically, they may be successful for a while, but eventually they would not feel a sense of achievement. They will grumble and be full of hatred and fight for more. If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing love or are we destroying our children instead?

You can let your child live in a big house, eat a good meal, learn piano, watch on a big screen TV. But when you are cutting grass, please let them experience it. After a meal, let them wash their plates and bowls together with their brothers and sisters. It is not because you do not have money to hire a maid, but it is because you want to love them in a right way. You want them to understand, no matter how rich their parents are, one day their hair will grow gray, same as the mother of that young person.

The most important thing is your child learns how to appreciate the effort and experience the difficulty and learns the ability to work with others to get things done.

Dedicated to All Earth Angels

A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"

"Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy."

God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

Again the child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?"

God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak."

"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"

God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."

"Who will protect me?"

God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking it's life."

"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."

God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name."

"You will simply call her, 'Mom.'"

Asian Charm: The Story of Life

Asian Charm: The Story of Life

The Story of Life

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, to teach you a lesson or to help you figure out who you are, or who you want to become. You never know

who these people may be, possibly your roommate, neighbor, coworker, long-lost friend, lover, or even a complete stranger, but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way.
Sometimes in life, things may happen to you that seem horrible, painful, and unfair, but in reflection, you find that without overcoming those obstacles,

you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower, or heart.
"If you want a rainbow,  you have to put up with the rain."
The people you meet that will affect your life, will be the success and downfalls you experience though out life...

they are who will help you create the person you will grow to become, even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are the most important experiences because, "Failure teaches Success."
If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious when you open you heart, how you must only give to the ones who are worthy of being loyal.
If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but also because in a way they are teaching you about how to love, have trust and about loyalty. Give them that chance to give and receive what they deserve for and from you. "Everything in life is temporary because everything changes, that's why it takes great courage to love, knowing it might end anytime, but having the faith that it will last forever."

PAUL AIDEN BARSON

Make everyday count. Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything you possibly can because that may be the only time in your life you will ever have that experience.

Meet new people you have never met before, talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen to what they have to say, it might teach you something valuable, but always remember who your true friends are.
"A true friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words".

Let yourself live, love, and break free, make no boundaries, for you can accomplish anything as long as your heart is into it.

This is your life, you run the show! Hold your head up because you have every right to.

Tell yourself you are a special individual and there is no other out there the same as you. Believe in yourself, for it will be hard for others to believe in you. "If you don't stand up for something, you will fall for anything". You are in control and you can create your own life, so take chances, and go out and live it with absolutely no regret.
"The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be".

Most Importantly,if you love someone tell him or her, for you never know what tomorrow will bring. Don't let one moment pass because it could change you forever.

Don't ever fear life, because "What doesn't kill you will only make you stronger". Learn a valuable lesson in each day that you live. "The rich person is not who has the most but who needs the least".
Life is too short to take seriously, so remember to begin each day with a smile…"Never frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile."

Everyone who walks through your door will make you happy, some on the way in and some on the way out…but always remember to leave the door to your heart open because you never know what may come your way.

Believe in Karma...  because what comes around really does go around.

IMPORTANT NEWS for US Visa Applicants from the Embassy of United States (Manila-Philippines)

ON GMA NEWS ONLINE :

No more walk-in inquiries for US visa applicants starting Wednesday (8 May 2013)

Starting Wednesday, May 8, walk-in inquiries for United States visas will no longer be allowed at the US Embassy's Immigrant Visa Unit.

In an email message to GMA News Online on Tuesday, Deputy Press Attaché Cynthia Cook said the embassy had accepted walk-in inquiries until recently, but this needs to be changed to better serve the public.

“Due to the widespread availability of accurate information about the immigration process from official US government sources, the Embassy determined that we could most effectively serve the visa-seeking public if, in the interest of efficiency and fairness, we limited in-person appearances at the immigrant visa unit to those applicants with previously-scheduled interviews,” Cook said.

In a reminder posted on its website, the US Embassy said it will allow those with "emergency needs" but on a case-to-case basis. "Applicants with emergency needs (i.e., ageing out cases, visa correction requests, and expiring visas) will be allowed to come in on a case-by-case basis," it said.

Those who want to schedule a visa appointment may call the embassy's call center at (632) 982-5555 or (632) 902-8930 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Also, it said applicants may arrange an appointment online at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph.

Those who need to submit additional documentation should proceed to the 2GO outlets at Robinsons Place Manila or SM Mall of Asia.

They may also send the documentation to the U.S. Embassy via any branch of 2GO courier service (Attn: Immigrant Visa Unit) together with a copy of the embassy's 221g refusal letter (MNL-IV-22A).

On the other hand, the embassy said returning resident applicants may still submit completed returning resident application forms at Window 38 every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Applicants with questions regarding their case should contact the Immigrant Visa Unit by email atIVManilaReplies@state.gov. — with Andrei Medina /BM/LBG, GMA News
